Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! We are an active small American Baptist congregation serving Jesus Christ, Swansea and nearby communities. We hail from Seekonk, Somerset, Fall River, Warren and Bristol. Please enjoy getting to know more about us in the pages that follow and join us for uplifting and centering worship each Sunday morning at 10:00. A time of fellowship follows with coffee, goodies and warm conversation. We enjoy newcomers, especially children, for whom there are classes and a special time in worship each week.
I serve as Interim Pastor. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island and Andover Newton Theological School with a Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained in 1980 by People’s Bapitst in Cranston. It has been my pleasure to work with First Baptist as they prepare to call a permanent pastor in the months ahead. This is a time of outreach and growth. I would enjoy the opportunity to meet you.
The season of Lent—the 6 weeks prior to Easter Sunday-- begins this year on Ash Wednesday, February 13th. The season is full of activity and opportunities to discover and deepen your faith. An adult study begins at 9 each Sunday morning beginning on February 17th. Whether you have been part of a Christian fellowship for many years or are just exploring a new path—we hope you will visit and begin to know the warm hospitality of Swansea and through us, the deep hospitality of God.
